NEW DELHI, INDIA: Indian Telecommunications Minister said on Tuesday the the Home Ministry will decide if they need to give more time to Blackberry maker Research In Motion to provide Indian security agencies access to its messenger and e-mail communication.
"We wanted to close it. If necessary, it (possible extension) will be considered by the home ministry," telecoms minister Andimuthu Raja told reporters when asked if the government would be giving another extension to Research In Motion.
India had threatened RIM with a ban if it denied access to the data and had given a 60-day reprieve to the company at the end of August.
