The company has said that the HT82B40R and HT82B40A MCU have passed USB-IF Compliance Testing USB 2.0 Report for Low speed Device.

Features of the new products in the series include 4Kx15 of OTP Program Memory, 160 Bytes of Data Memory RAM, 34 I/O pins as well as a 16-bit and 8-bit Timer, Holtek said.

Adding that the fully integrated high speed 12MHz oscillator removes the need for external oscillator components, it said the internally generated V33O reference voltage, which can supply up to 70mA, also reduces the need for external components. These features combine to provide users with cost effective devices requiring minimal PCB area and reduced component count.

The HT82B40R is an OTP memory type device while the HT82B40A is MASK memory type device, though they are functionally similar.

Offering the advantages of a high degree of functional integration and low cost, the devices come with a fully integrated system oscillator circuit, the design of which has already achieved successful patents in the US and Taiwan, and increasing substantially the competency of these devices in the marketplace, the company added.

Capable of being used in applications that require USB +PS/2 interfaces, the HT82B40R and HT82B40A devices can be bundled with PC peripheral keyboards, mouse products, joysticks, Game Pads, USB wireless receiver and other consumer USB products, Holtek said.
