Hitachi Data Systems promotes Phil Gann

BANGALORE, INDIA: Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi and the provider of services oriented storage solutions, today promoted Phil Gann as the Solutions and Products Group Director for Asia Pacific.

In his present designation, he would be responsible for taking the group to the next level to support HDS' growth in the APAC region, said a press release.

Gann joined Hitachi Data Systems as a customer service engineer in Sydney in 1991 and moved into a series of pre-sales and technical roles. Most recently Phil Gann was the director, Storage Infrastructure and Business Continuity, Asia Pacific.

During this tenure, he has been instrumental in the design, implementation, sales and strategic development of virtualization, disaster recovery and data migration solutions in the Asia Pacific region based on industry leading storage technology from Hitachi, said the release.

A Hitachi Data Systems veteran of 18 years, Gann brings to the role strong technical expertise and a sound understanding of Hitachi Data Systems' products, services and strategic software initiatives.

In his new role, Phil would play a pivotal role in leading these regional professional services, solutions and products organizations, overseeing the strategic direction and execution of the services and product strategy and ensuring a seamless customer experience, the release added.

His responsibilities include overall solutions strategy, services development, and integration as well as ensuring consistency, efficiency in service delivery.
