HIL notebooks @ Rs 30,000

NEW DELHI: Hindustan Infosystems Ltd (HIL), a personal and business technology products company, has announced its plans to launch a range of notebooks and laptops targeting the upwardly mobile executives in the urban cities. HIL also plans to introduce business card scanners and bar code scanners among many other products in 2005.



According to the press release, the range will initially be launched in Delhi and other regional markets and subsequently, will be introduced in other major cities through a professionally trained and motivated channel network across the country in a phased manner. The company also intends to make its notebooks range available in flagship stores at select locations.



HIL notebooks will be available in Intel Centrino, AMD, VIA options. The first HIL notebook, scheduled to be launched by mid of December 2004, will be an AMD based ultra thin WiFi enabled model weighing only 1.6 kg. HIL plans to price its notebooks with a starting price of Rs 30,000.



Said HIL CMD Sushil Aggarwal, "India is a rapidly evolving market with huge untapped potential and the demand for quality products is, unsurprisingly, on the rise.
