BANGALORE, September 2: Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd. (HFCL)
has announced its foray into software with the launch of Medisoft, a
product aimed at hospitals. The product, which has been developed using
Developer 2000 and Oracle 8 in the client/server architecture after
putting in 40 man-years, is priced at Rs 5 lakh for a server license with
five user nodes. It is designed to manage the entire hospital functioning,
from diagnosis to billing and inventory management.
The product will be introduced in ‘A’ class cities and will target
about 11,000 hospitals across the country soon. The company would charge a
consultation fee of Rs 2 lakh for installation and consultancy of the
software. HFCL Chairman Mahendra Nahata said that the company expected
orders from hospitals of defense ministry and the railways. They are also
confident of generating Rs 10 crore during the current fiscal from
Medisoft and Rs 120 crore in three years. Mr. Nahata added that the
company would help hospitals to arrange vendor financing from the
Industrial Development Bank of India and other financial institutions.
The team will continue to add more functionality and features to
provide total solutions to the hospital management and medical fraternity.
Medisoft was implemented in the Ludhiana Medical College and the blood
bank module of the solution was implemented at the International Council
for Red Cross.
