PARIS:Orange Business Services is implementing a 20-site global wide area network (WAN) for Hexagon Metrology that will connect its operations in 13 countries as an expansion of the existing Leica Geosystems contract.
Hexagon Metrology is a player in the dimensional metrology segment for industrial purposes. Along with Leica Geosystems, a customer of Orange Business Services since 2005, Hexagon Metrology is a subsidiary of the Hexagon AB Group.
Until recently, several smaller providers in different countries provided network services to Hexagon Metrology. Under a three-year contract, this managed MPLS-based IP network from Orange Business Services will link the most critical Hexagon Metrology sites across 13 countries including those in Brazil, China, India, Japan, Mexico, and South Korea.
Peter Billiaert, CIO, Hexagon Metrology, said: “Orange Business Services won over other competitors with not only its wide product portfolio, high quality and cost efficient solutions, but also with guaranteed service and price competitiveness and of course the prior satisfaction of the Leica team. With our new global WAN, we profit from a very reliable, high-performance network with top-level service quality that is imperative for our mission-critical business. As Orange Business Services is a trusted partner with a close relationship to Leica Geosystems, we knew that our solution would be excellent as well.”
“We are very pleased to be trusted by Hexagon Metrology to provide a single global WAN connecting its critical locations, including those in emerging markets,” said Helmut Reisinger, senior vice president, Orange Business Services Europe.
