NEW YORK: Spurred by a 40 per cent increase in notebook computer sales, Hewlett-Packard's profits rose 26 per cent during the first quarter ended January 31.
California-based HP’s revenue was at $25.1 billion, up 11 per cent for the first quarter.
According to Mark Hurd, the CEO of the company, the results signalled a strong start to the fiscal year.
The personal computer maker said its net income went up to $1.55 billion compared to 1.23 billion in the year-ago quarter.
