HCL unveils IT career initiative

NEW DELHI: HCL Infosystems Ltd today announced its plans to set up 100 HCL Career Development Center (CDC) across the country in the next 12 to 15 months, to create skilled IT professionals across the country.

The company has ventured into the field of IT career development with an objective to meet the increasing demand for skilled professionals from organizations across the country, HCL said in a statement.

The company already has operational HCL CDCs in six cities, namely Delhi, Noida, Pune, Coimbatore, Meerut and Agra, and the company plans to set up similar centers overseas as well, statement added.

HCL CDCs provide specially designed courses in high-end Software, Hardware and Networking integration to groom students into industry-ready professionals.

“The IT boom in India has caused a severe shortage of high-skilled ICT engineers. With HCL CDCs, we hope to play a leadership role in enlarging the talent pool available to organizations deploying IT in India,” said Rajendra Kumar, executive vice president, HCL Infosystems Limited.

“HCL CDC courses have been designed keeping in mind the specific needs of modern day organizations. It offers a three-months full-time and one-year part-time course titled HCL Certified Network Engineer (HCNE),” said STM Eswar, head, HCL Career Development Centre.

The course involves seven modules, 21 projects and 70 online tests as part of the academic curriculum. HCL CDCs also provide for placement support to all their students.
