HCL Technologies opens office in Canada

TORONTO, CANADA: HCL Technologies, a provider in IT services, announced on Wednesday that its has opened new office in Toronto, Canada to expand its operations in North America.

The company in Canada delivers services to 11 of the Global 1,000 clients across various industries under five business lines, product engineering (R&D), custom applications, enterprise application services, infrastructure management services, and BPO, said media reports.

The senior corporate vice-president and president in a statement said that North America market constitutes 55 per cent of HCL Technologies' global revenues and it is committed to a long-term investment in this country as part of its plans to expand operations in the region.

With Canada's IT services market expected to grow to $ 34 billion by 2009 (according to Forrester), HCL is looking at this market as a geography of focus in its global expansion strategy.
