NEW DELHI: HCL Technologies Ltd, a provider of IT solutions, today entered into a multi-million dollar strategic agreement with EXA Corporation, a System Integrator in Japan, to provide offshore based IT Solutions and System Integration Services to EXA's blue chip customer base.
EXA is a 51:49 joint venture between IBM Japan and JFE Steel and has customers in manufacturing, engineering, finance, card business and public sectors.
HCL said in a statement that this partnership would enable EXA to expand their client base and acquire a leadership position in the $100 billion Systems Integration market in Japan, leveraging HCL's offering in Application Consulting Services.
The business targeted through this partnership is $100 million in the next five years.
According to HCL, this partnership is the first of its kind for HCL in Application Consulting Services in Japan. HCL will implement large-scale projects for migration/conversion and re-engineering of legacy applications for EXA's customers.
The other significant areas of engagement will include product development and maintenance for Manufacturing IT solutions and enterprise consulting services in Oracle EBS. These projects would be executed out of HCL's centers in Noida and Chennai.
The partnership will also enable HCL to significantly scale up its business in Japan.
HCL has been present in Japan since 1996. Over past few years HCL has invested significantly in the recruitment and training of bilingual resources specifically for Japan business.
