HCL Tech to use IBM Rational software

BANGALORE: HCL Technologies (HCLT) has chosen IBM Rational software to strengthen its software development capabilities. The IBM Rational tools are expected to speed up software development time by automation, process standardization and enhanced team collaboration.

As a part of the agreement, IBM Rational will also set up a Rational competency center at the HCLT premises in Gurgaon, to assist the company's software development team to adapt and continually absorb future enhancements in Rational technologies.





IBM Rational incorporates the capture, create, control and exchange functionality required by a software development company to securely manage all of its software development changes and assets. Rational tools will allow HCLT's teams to better create, manage and reuse software components optimizing the development time to achieve enhanced predictability & productivity. It will enable the company to deliver services to its customers faster and more efficiently.





At HCLT, the licenses will be deployed over a central server and will be accessible, on demand, to the entire organization. This will help in optimizing the outlay made by HCLT on the software. HCLT set up a corporate tools group a year and a half ago with a key focus in building and acquiring tools for software engineering productivity improvement, providing customers with better visibility of work, collaborative software development and process automation. The adoption of IBM Rational is a part of this effort that will provide HCLT a competitive advantage and a head start over its competition.
