HCL opens new tech hub in Haryana

MANESAR: HCL Technology, today announced the opening of its new Technology Hub in Manesar, Haryana.

The hub was inaugurated today by Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana in the presence of the Guest of Honour Shri Kapil Sibal, Hon’ble Minister of Human Resource Development of the Government, said a press release.

Rao Inderjeet Singh, Member of Parliament and Hon’ble Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on IT and Shri Deepender Hooda, Member of Parliament were Special Guests at the inaugural function attended by prominent guests from the Government, industry and media.

The Manesar HCL Tech Hub is a “green” and “intelligent” facility which will employ over 3,200 people housed in 9,00,000 square feet of eco friendly buildings with an investment of Rs 260 crore, and will generate Rs 1000 crore ($225 Mn) in export revenues annually. It also has the capacity to train 1,000 technology professionals at any given point in time, the release added.

Shiv Nadar, founder, HCL and Chairman, HCL Technologies  said,  “Ever since we started three and a half decades back, we learned to think on our feet and yet think ahead. So a few years back, given the growth potential and aspirations of India and its technology industry, we decided to launch a series of seamlessly networked HCL Technology Hubs across India.”

He added that the Hubs will not just house and incubate HCL’s global businesses but also add to the country’s ability to become a source for cutting edge technologies for the world.

Ajai Chowdhry, founder, HCL and Director, HCL Technologies, commented, “Both HCL’s technology vision and Shiv Nadar Foundation’s education vision will converge here in Haryana - creating a hub where not just future technologies will be built, but where India’s minds will be trained to power its IT engine. Future hubs will also take employment to tier II and III cities where it is most needed.”

HCL’s Technology Hubs are also coming up in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Nagpur with a spread of over 300 acres nationally, the release added.
