HCL Tech FY06 net up 27 p.c.

NEW DELHI: HCL Technologies  has reported a 27.1 per cent increase in net income at Rs 773.0 crore for the FY ended June 30, 2006, as compared to Rs 609.1 crore in FY 2004-05. The company’s revenue for the same period stood at Rs 4,388 crore, showing an increase of 30.5 per cent YoY..



HCL’s infrastructure management services business showed the fastest growth at with revenues showing a 64.5 per cent growth. Its IT services revenue grew by 25.8 per cent and BPO services revenue rose by 25.3 per cent.

HCL’s total headcount as on June 30, 2006 stood at 32,626. The company added 8536 employees during FY`06 – 3,713 in the IT Services business, 1,352 in Infrastructure Services and 3,471 in BPO.

For the fourth quarter ended June 30, 2006, HCL Technologies has reported 34 per cent increase in revenue to Rs 1,253 crore. The net income for the same period increased by 43.8 per cent to Rs 233 crore. For the quarter ended June 30, 2006, HCL added 2678 employees - 1709 in the IT Services business, 529 in Infrastructure Services and 440 in BPO.

Speaking on the occasion, HCL Technologies chairman and CEO Shiv Nadar attributed this growth to HCL’s “Transformational Strategy” set in motion over the last 12 months.

“The landmark deals we have won this year, the global recognition of our employee first strategy, and the sharp acceleration in Remote Infrastructure Management services, consolidation of our BPO business as well as the more mature Technology and IT Services business are very positive trends,” he said.

“Emerging high growth areas such as Remote Infrastructure Management, where we have virtually created a new market space through our co-sourcing model, has been a key growth driver this financial year with a 65 per cent increase in revenues, and a run-rate that has more than doubled in the last 12 months”, said HCL Technologies president Vineet Nayar.

“We are now in the process of rapidly scaling up our recruitment engine, deepening our talent base, and ensuring our front and back ends are strengthened to ensure we build on this momentum.”

HCl is focusing on multi-year, multi-service, multi-million dollar deals to drive growth. Currently 37.2 per cent of its revenue comes from its top 10 customers. Some of the companies with whom HCL has recently entered into big deals include DSG International, Autodesk Inc., EXA Corporation, etc.
