HCL and Sanovi to offer DRaaS to Indian enterprises

NEW DELHI, INDIA: HCL Infosystems announced on Tuesday its partnership with Sanovi Technologies, a Disaster Recovery Management (DRM) solutions company, to offer disaster recovery services to Indian enterprises.

With this engagement, Sanovi becomes an HCL Blu Enterprise Cloud partner as the technology provider for DR Management solutions. The Disaster Recovery as a Service powered by Sanovi Cloud DRM (Disaster Recovery Management) on the HCL Blu Enterprise Cloud platform will be available to organizations across the country to meet their business objectives, stated a release.

The partnership, it added, will enable large, medium and small enterprises be disaster-proof through real-time monitoring, automated IT Disaster Recovery Processes and comprehensive reporting. The Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) will be available on HCL Blu Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure, which includes operations related to server, network and database installation, management and monitoring.

The service is not only for customers whose primary data center is hosted with HCL Infosystems, but also for others who have their primary data centers in-house or with other data center providers. Customers who have both virtual as well as physical servers can avail of this service.

Speaking on the occasion, Neeraj Jaitley, president, Enterprise Solutions, HCL Infosystems Ltd. said, "Organizations are increasingly realizing the importance of protection against disasters and the need for a robust recovery service. The DRaaS market is rapidly gaining maturity especially in the large and medium business segments in India."

Raja Vonna, Sanovi's vice-president, OEM Engg, said, "More and more customers - especially mid-size companies - are looking to jump into the cloud model to minimize in-house investment and save on infrastructure, space and other costs. With, business continuity emerging as a key focus area for businesses, our cloud product enables service providers to scale and deploy DR offerings that are attractive to customers for its subscription-based pricing models and associated SLAs."

The DRaaS by HCL Infosystems and Sanovi will also be equipped to create an entire failover site infrastructure for customers and will also help address critical IT DR issues, including those of interoperability owing to heterogeneous operating environments, the release further stated.

Other features include continuous monitoring, automating manual DR processes, comprehensive reporting capabilities and flip of switch fail over and fall back options. A team of highly skilled and trained resources from HCL Infosystems will provide support for customer requests or issues.
