HCL launches workstation '08 series

NEW DELHI: HCL Infosystems Limited today announced the launch of its Professional Workstation 2008 series for MCAD and DCC professionals.

The new workstation is based on New Intel X 38 based on Garlow Intel Platform, Core Micro architecture Processors and next generation Nvidia Quadro FX370. The workstation is specifically designed and targeted towards professionals in the field of digital content creation, Mechanical computer aided design, HCL said in a statement.

With industry's first unified architecture the Professional Workstation 2008 series will not only allow professionals to seamlessly integrate all their application needs on one platform but is also designed to dynamically allocate geometry, shading, pixel, and compute processing power making it relevant for the graphics, animation and game developers, HCL statement added.

George Paul, executive vice president, HCL Infosystems Limited, said, "India has already become a designing and animation hub of the world. Also Research Labs, Weather forecasting, Land records, GIS etc there is ever increasing demand for high graphics performance. This launch will help the design Industry to improve their efficiency and cut costs and delivery cycles while producing a better quality output. This is the first in the series of launches that we have planned.”

The NVIDIA Quadro FX 370 within the workstation enables creation and integration of real-time photo realistic effects into 3D models, scenes and designs.

The workstation will allow professionals to shorten the production process and enhance productivity, as users can expect increase in performance on applications like AutoCAD 2008, Autodesk - Inventor, 3DS Max 2008 and Maya version 2008, Solidworks 2008, Dassault - CATIA, Adobe acrobat 3D. Designers can now experiment with more design options leading to higher quality output in the given project cycle time.

The workstation with Intel X38 platform, NVIDIA Quadro FX370, 19" TFT Monitor, 2GB memory, 160GB of Hard disk space, DVDROM, Windows Vista operating system will be available for Rs 49,999 across the country.
