HCL launches range of enterprise servers

NEW DELHI: HCL



Infosystems Ltd
has unveiled its gen-next range of enterprise servers, based

on Intel Dual-core Itanium Processors. It is a complete range of high-end

enterprise servers, ranging from two-way servers to 32-way servers, targeted at

R&D centers data centers and corporate.






HCL Infosystems and Intel share a high level of strategic collaboration, wherein
Intel has recognized HCL Infosystems as the 'Server Leader Account'. Being a

beta site partner for Intel, HCL conducts critical testing and validation

processes in the developmental stage of these products.






Announcing its new range of server platforms, George Paul “executive
vice-president, HCL Infosystems Ltd, said, "The launch of Intel dual-core

Itanium processor-based enterprise servers on true open architecture is yet

another progressive step ahead in the direction of HCL's endeavor to effectively

offer products with value to Indian customers.”






GB Kumar, director of Marketing Group (South Asia), Intel Technology India Pvt.
Ltd, said, “HCL Infosystems is one of the first suppliers to offer Indian

businesses freedom of choice by using the new Dual Core Intel Itanium 2

processors which supports a broad choice of OSes and software with more than

8,000 applications in production. None of the RISC vendors can match this

unbeatable flexibility and standards based approach.”






HCL would be targeting these servers at key corporates across all segments,
including Corporates, R&D centers, education institutions, BFSI, government data

centers and defense institutions. These servers would be marketed through

performance demonstrations at 'HCL Center of Excellence' as well as corporate

sites, besides employing other effective marketing tools.
