HCL lauches eco-friendly notebook

NEW DELHI, INDIA: HCL Infosystems Limited, India’s premier hardware, services and ICT system Integration Company, on Friday unveiled ME Series 40 Notebook with BFR-free feature on the occasion of Earth Hour 2010.

The eco-friendly ME notebook has been designed and manufactured with BFR components used in concentrations of less than 0.1 per cent, thus making the product recycable  and environment friendly, said a press release.

George Paul, executive vice president, HCL Infosystems Ltd said, “We have always lead in bringing technology innovations into our country since inception. With the launch of BFR-free HCL ME Series 40, we have reinforced our commitment towards green revolution in the IT hardware market.”

BFR-free HCL ME Series 40 meets the RoHS 2.0 standards, laid down by the European environmental-safety standards, and is future-ready for the environmentally-conscious global consumer.

The notebook is also compliant to Energy Star 5.0 rating and blessed with the unique HCL Balanced Power Theme which enables auto shutdown during idle period. The notebook becomes greener with Advanced Thermal Engineering which minimizes the heat-generation capacity. These features almost double the battery back-up of the notebook, thus making a step towards conserving energy, the release said.

 The new notebook is based on the Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
