HCL Insys, Red Hat form alliance for Linux OS

NEW DELHI, September 10: HCL Infosystems Ltd. (HCL Insys), at

technology integration company, announced that it has extended its 'Linuxpertise'

initiative by forming an alliance with Redhat Software Inc, the US-based

leader in Linux distribution. With this, HCL Insys becomes the country's

first authorized Linux System Builder.

This partnership empowers HCL Insys to redistribute Red Hat's Linux

software in India. HCL Insys will also pre-load the software on its

leading edge, indigenously developed, Intel microprocessor-based Infiniti

Global Line servers. In addition, HCL Insys gains access to Redhat's Linux

Support packs. The alliance also includes hardware compatibility technical

updates, hardware certification programs and access to Redhat Certified

Engineer (RHCE) training.
