HCL Insys launches call center offering

NEW DELHI: HCL Infosystems Ltd. (HCL Insys), has announced the launch of its

call center services in the country in association with Stratasoft Inc., global

provider of advanced call center solutions.

Initially, the call centers will provide outbound telemarketing or telesurvey

campaigns to its customers at a fixed contracted rate. The service portfolio of

the call centers will be soon expanded to provide voice calls and data services

such as e-mail response, web chat etc. The call center technology will be based

on the Stratasoft product called Strata Dial.

HCL Insys plans to set up 30 call centers with over 3600 agents in the

country in the first year in a bid to capture significant share of the industry,

which is expected to grow to $3.7 billion by the year 2008 as per Nasscom's

estimates.

HCL Insys will provide assistance and consultation to entrepreneurs

interested in setting up a call center facility right from recruitment and

training to managing system integration, technology upgrades and process

transitions to exploring new business opportunities together with the

entrepreneurs. On its part, Stratasoft will provide round the clock support to

dialers and will also provide tier-2 support to the customers on technology

issues.

Commenting on the launch of the call centers, HCL Infosystems president,

Office Automation Division V Ramamurthy said, "The call center space has

emerged as very promising area of growth in IT enabled services for India. With

the slowing down of the economy, corporates are looking at a cost effective yet

efficient solution for processing the functions of customer acquisition and

retention.
