HCL Insys' ERP project for Sterlite goes live

BANGALORE, September 8: HCL Infosystems (HCL Insys), a technology

integration company, announced that its SAP/ERP (Enterprise Resource

Planning) solution for Sterlite Industries (I) Ltd. (SIIL) corporate

office and four plants comprising SIIL's Rs 1,350 crore Copper Division,

has gone live.

The primary focus of Sterlite's SAP/ERP implementation is customer

satisfaction. The solution aims to integrate and automate critical

business processes and functions and establish wide area connectivity

across locations. Major benefits of this implementation will be in the

areas of improved inventory management and control, increased efficiency

through better utilization of financial and human resources and a highly

streamlined planning function. HCL Insys' solution encompasses SIIL's four

business units: copper and optical fiber; optical fiber cables; aluminum

fiber cables; and jelly filled fiber cables units.

Implemented by HCL Insys' Professional Services Organization (PSO),

appointed Sterlite's total IT infrastructure partner, the project now

enters its next phase wherein the solution will be implemented at the

other six plants.

The highlight of the implementation is its successful completion in a

record eleven months, significantly faster than others of similar scope.

In addition to Sterlite, HCL Insys has provided its SAP implementation

expertise along with other services in several prestigious implementation

projects such as General Motors (I) Ltd., Kalyani Brakes, Hindustan

Motor's Lancer Car Project, and Samsung India Electronics Ltd.
