HCL Infosystems partners Nautilus Hyosung

MUMBAI, INDIA: In order to provide ATM solutions for the Indian banking sector, Indian IT enterprise HCL Infosystems today announced a partnership with Nautilus Hyosung, Korean’s top ATMs maker and automated solution provider.

HCL Infosystems’ COO J V Ramamurthy said, “Now, we are introducing self service solutions in the country as per the local conditions. About 60 per cent of population is using ATMs today, but its density in rural areas is very low.”

He also pointed out that in India there are only 26 ATMs per million populations, which in comparison to other countries is too low. “According to an estimate, this ATM density will increase to 56 per million populations by 2010,” he added.

About Nautilus Hyosung, Ramamurthy stressed that it is the company which can make solutions as per Indian rural conditions and requirements.

“Nautilus Hysoung will contribute to India’s growth and the banking sector. India is a fast growing economy and our solutions will help to optimise customer satisfactions,” said Charles C Jung, Nautilus Hyosung’s senior executive advisor.

Under the partnership, HCL will offer Nautilus’ range of ATM products and solutions with full sales and service support. The designing and development will be done by the Korean company, while HCL is in-charge of solution customization as per the Indian standards and requirement.

Nautilus Hyosung’s product range includes three major class, Nano Cash series, Mini Bank series and Moni Max series. It offers solution both in the ATM and money dispenser space, where the ATM costs around Rs 4 lakh and the money dispenser is for Rs 5 lakh.

Features include environment robustness, two-level security layer using anti-scheming technology, camera device mounted on the machine, finger printer technology, mirror to view rear side while using the machine and many more. Also, the solutions can be easily integrated to any monitoring programs.

The Korean company is ranked fourth in global ATM market and supplies hardware as well as software solutions worldwide including the US, China and other countries. In fact, the company’s first ATM was installed in the US back in 1958.

According to Jung, the company is in further talks with HCL Infosystems, when India will become the hub for the company and will help to exports the solutions from here to other markets.

While speaking to CyberMedia News, George Paul, HCL Infosystems’ executive vice president – Marketing said that the business development with Nautilus Hyosung will be done in a phase wise manner.

“Initially, the core technology and hardware will be directly brought from Nautilus Hysoung, while its customization and integration will be handled by HCL. Then on a phase wise manner, HCL will under take development and hardware manufacturing from its facilities based Vishkhapattanam and Uttaranchal.”

However, financial details on this announced partnership were not revealed with media. Within a month of so, this is the second such partner to bring in ATM solutions in India, earlier FINO and NCR had called a similar tie-up.
