HCL Info Q3 net up 13.6%

NEW DELHI: HCL Infosystems Ltd has posted a 13.6 percent increase in net profit after tax to Rs 41.31 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005 as compared to Rs 36.35 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2004. Total Income (net of excise) has increased by 29.1 percent to Rs 528.22 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005 from Rs 408.9 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The Group has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 65.4 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005 as compared to Rs 55.47 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2004. Total Income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 1179.32 crore in Q3-04 to Rs 2005.39 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005.

The Board of Directors has recommended the sub-division of the company's equity share of Rs 10 each into five equity shares of Rs two each, subject to the approval of the shareholders through a postal ballot. The Board of Directors has declared a third quarterly interim dividend of Rs seven per share (70 percent on an equity share of par value of Rs 10 each).

The company also announced that it has crossed $ one billion in revenue in just nine months according to its un-audited results for the quarter ended March 31, 2005. The company has reported consolidated revenue of Rs 5586.1 crore during the nine months ended March 31, 2005. Profit before tax is reported at Rs 220.1 crore.

"Our leadership position in both the enterprise and consumer segment is a result of our continued focus in technology and enhancing service offers to consumers. Our strategy of taking IT to the masses by exploring new territories has also contributed to our growth," he added.
