HCL opens 'Digilife Store' in Bangalore

BANGALORE,INDIA: HCL Infosystems Ltd today opened its first ‘Digilife Store’ in the city. The 400 sq. ft. store, located at Lalbagh West Gate Circle, showcases the recently-launched ‘MiLeap’ range portable laptops.

Desktop PCs, laptops, mobile phones, digital camera and audio players are available at the store. “Going ahead HCL has lined up many products which would be launched this year. In another two or three years, there are all possibilities of laptops breaking the RS 10,000 barrier,” said Rajendra Kumar, executive vice president, HCL Infosystems Limited.

The ‘MiLeap’ X Series Ultra Portable range of Leaptops breaks the Rs 14,000 price barrier. With prices starting at Rs 13,990, the HCL ‘MiLeap’ X series is designed especially for the Indian environment. ‘MiLeap’ Y Series Ultra Portable Leaptops is priced at Rs 29,990.

“The store will enable the customers to get a real experience of the MiLeap products, which will be available in stores from January 26,” added Kumar. HCL has over 50 ‘Digilife Store’ across India and has large retail network. Industry estimates peg the current potential of digital lifestyle market around Rs 2500 crore and is expected to touch Rs 10000 crore by 2010.
