According to reliable sources, HCL has offered 441.1 million pounds (around $812 million) bettering the amount of $753 million (around 409 million pounds) that Infosys offered last month.

Earlier HCL had refused to comment on the bid saying that “We have a policy of not commenting on speculation and, hence, I will not be able to answer.” Infosys had also expressed ignorance about the HCL bid for Axon.

Actually Infosys was expecting to transfer of ownership November 2008, when HCL finally came with the counter bid.

Axon provides consultancy services to multinational organizations that have chosen SAP as their strategic enterprise platform and has about 2000 employees.

Founded in 1994, Axon has offices in the UK, North America, Malaysia and Australia.
