"Global manufacturing capacity for LCDs has risen to tremendous levels, expected to support the sales of 3.5 billion panels this year alone," said Sweta Dash, senior director, display research and strategy, for IHS. "However, innovation has not kept pace with the boom in manufacturing. At this point, the question must be asked: Are we at the end of the line for innovation in the LCD business?"

Topics covered during the session included:

* Connectivity and content consumption driving the display device market.

* The resolution revolution driving the high-performance display market.
