The program has been conducted on a monthly basis for more than two years in Chennai, where Dax is headquartered, with more than 900 engineers trained across the country during this period.

The program, offering hands-on training, is unique in that it drives technology ahead of the products. The training regimen includes demonstration of various switching and routing technologies by experienced trainers followed by self-learning hands-on exercises. Trainees are certified based on their performance in these exercises. No product presentations or product highlights intervene during the technology session.

A concept centre will be set-up at the training venue, which will be equipped with high-end switches and routers, allowing trainees to gain hands-on exposure to various networking technologies in switching and routing. Coupled with trainers from the Dax technical support team, the entire drill makes for quick learning.

According to K Surendar, country manager, Dax Networks, "This program is aimed at educating our distributors, SI partners and end-users of latest networking technologies and, thereby, enabling better technical support on these. The program will create awareness in the end-user community to deploy the right technology in their organizations. It helps system integrators and OEM's to consult on the best-required technology according to the application needs and network infrastructure of their clients."

The training commences on October 17, 2005, and runs till October 21 with a batch size of between 25-30 participants. Trainees would be given a book on networking principles at the end of the program and qualifying trainees would be certified as Dax Certified Network Engineer (DCNE).
