GLENELG, USA: HackSurfer, LLC, an independent cybercrime data and analytics social collaboration network, has entered into a partnership with Malformity Labs, LLC, a company that builds value-added solutions on top of Paterva's Maltego, an open source intelligence and forensics application.

Malformity Labs has developed custom plug-ins that allow for data from HackSurfer's Application-Programming Interface (API) endpoints to be integrated with the capabilities of Maltego. An API is a software-to-software interface for accessing a Web-based software application or Web tool. HackSurfer's APIs enable subscribers to embed customized cybercrime data and analytics onto their proprietary applications.

"HackSurfer's partnership with Malformity Labs adds the powerful capabilities of Maltego to our APIs, enabling clients to quickly identify unknown relationships, discover related threats or infrastructure, and gather as much context as possible," said Jason Polancich, founder and chief enabler of HackSurfer. "This will further enhance the utility of our APIs, which allow clients to build their own custom applications, integrate our data with their web pages and dashboards, or just do custom analysis in their own databases."

Subscribing to one of HackSurfer's APIs (www.hacksurfer.com/api) provides a set of programming instructions and standards that enables subscribers to add to their own applications a range of customized cybercrime data, including cybercrime events, industry risk scores, industry target summaries and top trending tags.
