The hack is believed to be a DNS hijack, which is similar to the breach that Twitter succumbed to last year, according to a TechCrunch report. After the hacking, the hacker put up a banner both in French and English, saying “This domaine is for sale. Please contact us for further informations.” The hacker also gave an email Id. However, now the TCS website is visible.

According to techie-buzz.com, it was a French hacker who did the malicious act. This hack will definitely lead to total embarrassment for the software firm who thrives on creating software and security systems day in and day out, it added.

Confirming the incident, TCS said none of the servers were compromised in the attack. TCS said the site has been restored and it is now functioning fine.

"None of the servers were compromised. Initial investigation reveals a DNS redirection at the domain name registrar's end. Further investigations are on," TCS said in a statement.
