Hackers attack Indian Army website to warn Govt

BANGALORE, INDIA: The Anonymous India, a hacker group, has take its fight against corruption in India to new heights. The group has announced that it has 'successfully' hacked the official website of Indian Army last week to caution the Government against corruption.

According to Anonymous India, no data loss is done with Indian army site or server.

The group had recently attacked on the subdomains of  National Informatics Centre (NIC) in support of the 'Anti-corruption movement' launched by Baba RamDev.

This time some hackers (Contact ID : anonymous_indian@hushmail.me) have now become a part of the fight against corruption with Anonymous. They strike back to NIC's whole server. With this, the Official site of Indian Army was also taken down by them, an announcement in the Hacker News said.

According to the hackers group, the Indian Army site was down for one hour only. The site is working fine now.

After the attack, the group boasted saying "We took Down Indian Army Official Site and NIC knows more what we did."

The developments come after Facebook and twitter removed the accounts of Anonymous Operation India. Both the 'Operation India' Facebook page and '@operationindia' Twitter handle are no more accessible.

The a 'hacktivist' group has also been linked to the recent attack on Sony as well as against the governments of Iran, Spain, New Zealand and Colombia.

The group has also placed its demands that include taking strong and decisive measures to root-out corruption and stem the rot plaguing Indian politics, the expeditious passing of the Lokpal Bill and prescription of severe punishment for corrupt officials.
