NEW DELHI: Hewlett-Packard, a global provider of computing and imaging
solutions and services, has announced complete IT solutions for self-employed
professionals. The e-practice solutions targeted at doctors and lawyers will be
popularized through roadshows in Lucknow, Allahabad and Kanpur simultaneously.
These roadshows form the second phase of the company's initiative for the small
and medium business (SMB). The first phase of the roadshows was held in Amritsar
and Trivandrum.
"The practice management solution automates and streamlines processes to
enable lawyers and doctors to work more efficiently. Also, the additional
facility of Internet access would help in building a community of peers who can
share their knowledge and experiences," said Raj Kumar Rishi, Country
Manager SMB at Hewlett-Packard India.
HP's IT solution for the vertical segment includes an HP Brio PC, HP DeskJet
640C, 100 hours of free Internet access and other value adds such as free
software.
HP's package for lawyers includes a complete office automation solution to
enable legal practice in the information age. The solution contains Grand Jurix,
an electronic law library that is the single largest collection of law
information on Indian business law. It contains information equivalent to at
least 2,500 bound volumes or around 8 lakh pages, containing 14 modules. These
modules contain relevant Acts, subsidiary legislation, notification and
circulars issued by law enforcement authorities and decisions of the appropriate
Tribunals, the High Courts and the Supreme Court of India. The package also
offers access to www.grandjurix.com,
which allows downloading of fortnightly updates.
HP's package for doctors is a complete office automation solution. The HP
Brio PC comes bundled with software designed by Indian Doctors Network (IDN).
The practice management solution offers the unique functions of voice recording
and image library, which helps to maintain records of patients.
