Once installed, the T2 app will assist the passengers with the interactive walk-through experience, including information on connecting flights through push notification system.

The app developed by Next Byte Wave Technologies connects directly to the flight information system in the airport to provide updates on flight status and changes in departure time through a simple timely notification starting a day prior to the flight.

The app works on a platform developed on Indoor Atlas and iBeacon technologies that creates magnetically modelled maps and provides location-based information by using 3G connection or free Wi-Fi services available at the airport.

Rajeev Jain, Chief Executive Officer, Mumbai International Airport Limited, said, “The Mumbai T2 app will allow the passengers to design their own experiential tour from their mobile phone. Moreover, we being a silent’ terminal, are cutting down on public announcements, the app will be a very handy tool for passengers to keep track of their flight schedule through constant notifications.”

The app is compatible with Apple and Android phones and tablets and can be downloaded for free from iOS App Store and Google Play Store.
