Gurgaon-based Appworks acquires software development startup BigDrop

In a bid to enhance its capabilities in services, products and digital marketing, IT servicing and consulting company Appworks has acquired BigDrop, a custom software development startup.

The financial details of the acquisition are yet to be disclosed.

Gurgaon-based BigDrop, founded by Sherjil Ozair and Naved Khan, offers solutions to other startups, SMEs and large companies like SoftAge, India Accelerator, Just Rokket, and VConnekt, among others. The company employs 14 people, all of whom have been hired by AppWorks with this deal.

“Big Drop has always been about delivering high-quality, modern, smart technology solutions to our clients. Our merger with App Works helps us get closer to this goal, leveraging their vast reach, and gaining from the experience of the excellent management team, and building solutions that impact and solve real-life problems,” said Khan.

Ashish Bhata, co-founder of Appworks said, “Appworks is now becoming a collection of LOBs – BigDrop, OrganIQ, UpSkill, plus a host of startups. Bringing the talent of BigDrop in-house will enable us to accelerate our growth.”

Founded in 2008, AppWorks has over the years evolved into a holding company with strong capabilities in building IT solutions, especially mobile apps. The company offers consulting services to MNCs on improving their software engineering practices, upskilling freshers to make them employable, and collaborating with startups to help them launch in the market.
