Govt of M’rashtra bags best website award

CHENNAI: The Government of Maharashtra website (www.maharashtra.gov.in) bagged the Golden Icon Award in the Best Website Award session at the 7th National Conference on e-governance. The Silver Icon Award was bagged by Department of Income Tax (incometaxindia.gov.in/), while Government of NCT Delhi (delhigovt.nic.in) bagged the Bronze Icon Award.







These awards are part of the National Awards for the Best e-gov Paper, Best e-Gov Practices and the Best Website being presented at the 7th National Conference on e-governance. Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani gave away the awards to the winners.







Other award winners in the Best Website Award session include Nilgiris Tamilnadu (www.teaserve.com) and Government of Gujarat (www.gujaratindia.com) who won the Special Mention Award.







In the category for the Exemplary E-Governance Initiative, Golden Icon Award was shared by Public Private Participation of e-Registration in Maharashtra and the E-Procurement program of Government of Andhra Pradesh. The Silver Icon Awards went to - "Bhoomi" - On-line delivery of Land Titles in Karnataka and eSeva (Delivery of citizen services online and real-time), Government of Andhra Pradesh.



The Bronze Icon Awards were shared by three - Implementation of e-governance initiative in BWSSB (Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board), Lok Mitra Project - Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh), eCOPS (computerized Operations for Police Services), Govt of Andhra Pradesh.







In the Technical Paper category, Dr. PK Mohanty, IAS (Executive Director, Center for Good Governance, Hyderabad) won the Golden Icon Award for the paper 'Improving Governance through Performance Management'. Ajay Shrivastava, JDG of Foreign Trade, O/o DG FT, Ministry of Commerce bagged the Silver Icon for "Regulator to Facilitator - DGFT Renewal through EDI, reengineering and strategic standardization". And lastly, Prakash Kumar, IAS (Special Secretary, Government of NCT of Delhi) got the Bronze Icon for his paper "Web based Tender Notice Information System".
