BANGALORE, INDIA: To tackle the issue of the excess number of labels along the email subject lines limiting the readability of mails in inboxes on a netbook due to the limited screen space, Google has now created a new Gmail Labs feature called 'Remove Labels from Subjects' that automatically hides the labels from messages in your inbox, leaving plenty of space for the messages' subjects.

To turn this on, one simply needs to go to the Gmail Labs tab under 'Settings' and click on 'Remove Labels from Subjects', says a post on the official Gmail blog.

This makes room for loads of space for the subjects of the mails or messages. Another way that users can effortlessly view the subjects is to implement the ‘full screen mode’ from Google Chrome. But with this latest feature, surfers have to simply turn it on and automatically all their subjects will be more visible.

Once enabled, 'Remove Labels from Subjects' is enabled for every computer you access your Gmail with, so you’ll lose the labels when you open your Gmail account on a desktop or larger laptop screen too.
