Google scores high in India, Yahoo falls

BANGALORE, INDIA: The rat-race is getting tougher day by day for the Internet giants. A recent report by India-based measurement platform ViziSense shows Google positioned at the top followed by Yahoo.

According to the statistics stated in the firm's website, Google gains 74.0 per cent reach in India and whereas Yahoo has 58.1 per cent and MSN has 18.1 per cent. Microsoft's Bing has been able to get 11.2 per cent reach.

With 18.2 million users in last month, Gmail climbs the ladder with 3 per cent growth followed by Yahoo Mail with 16.8 million users. Despite making major strategic moves, Yahoo showed a downtrend of eight per cent is the last one month.

MSN shows a slight upper curve by growing 6 per cent with 4.11 million users.

In terms of search, again, Google leads the show with 32.2 million users, but growth wise it has only gained one per cent. Bing managed to garner 4.47 million users showing four per cent growth and Yahoo search garnered 8.18 million users with 13.3 per cent of growth.
