Google releases command line tool for services

BANGALORE, INDIA: Search major Google recently announced the launch of GoogleCL, an open source command line tool, which provides prompt access to the company's web services.

Currently, this tool supports services, which include YouTube, Calender, Contacts, Docs, and Picasa.

It is a Python application that uses the Python gdata libraries to make Google Data API calls from the command line.

According to a blog post by Jason Holt, Street View Team and Tom Miller, former Street View Intern, The tool streamlines tasks such as posting a blog on Blogger, adding events to Calendar, or editing documents on Google Docs.

“GoogleCL brings cloud computing to your fingertips, literally!,” added the blog.
