BANGALORE, INDIA: If everything goes well, developers will get a chance to view the source code of Google's latest operating system (OS), Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) on November 17.
It may be recalled that, the search engine giant had released the software development kit of Android 4.0 and had refused to release the source code of its earlier Android operating system 'Honeycomb'.
Announcing this exciting news on his company's official blog Notion Ink's Rohan Shravan posted, "17th is when we are expecting Ice Cream Sandwich to be finally out with the source, and then you will see whole community (aka TabletRoms) and NI pushing in ROMs with different flavors."
It was a practice from Google to help the developers and manufactures by making the source code available of Android operating system under Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
To confirm the release of open source code to developers and manufacturer, Google's Jean-Baptiste Queru confirmed that the Android Open Source Project is back on track for a next release in coming days.
"The Android Open-Source Project is distributing source code again," posted Queru in Google Plus. “Yes, that means ICS will be coming to AOSP.”
According to the media reports, it has been rumored that the Galaxy Nexus will launch in Europe on the same day.
