Navigation around big cities is set to become simpler and easier. Google has updated its Maps app with a dedicated tab to provide users with information about cab services beyond the typical driving directions. Google has introduced the new taxi feature in partnership with Uber and Ola Cab services. Users will also be able to compare all commuting options from within the app only.

This one-stop solution to all commuting worries will be available in all the major cities of India but is currently available only for Android devices and soon the app will be available for iOS devices.

"If you are looking for a cab service in major cities in India, you'll be able to choose from Uber or Ola cab services. If you have a provider's app installed, you’ll be able to see fare estimates and pick up times and if a car is available near you. Uber users will be able to choose from uberGO and uberX services while Ola customers can choose from Ola Mini, Ola Micro and Ola Sedan options," said Google in a blog post.

Once the service is selected the app would directly take the user to the Uber or Ola app to request the ride of the service.

In October 2015, Google had launched the Delhi Public Transport Offline app to make it easier for people to locate public transport, search for directions and check the timetable information for Delhi Metro and buses even on slow connections.
