Google makes Orkut available on Android

BANGALORE, INDIA: Google has added another new feature to its Android. Now users would be able to access their Orkut accounts through the Android devices for free.


The Orkut in Android feature enables users to sync with their friends even when not under data network coverage. It also enables to upload photos directly from the phone, removing the hassle of downloading the photos to computer. This feature also gives users notifications on their scraps.

To install the orkut for Android application visit Android Market from the Android device and search for "Orkut" under the social applications category. Users can also directly scan the QR code below to install it, said a blog post at the Google's official blog site.

The application would be available for Android devices running version 1.6 or higher.
