NEW YORK: BEA Systems Inc.'s chief software architect, Adams Bosworth, is leaving the company to join Internet search engine Google, the latest edition of business weekly Barron's reported.
Adam Bosworth, who is also a senior vice president at BEA, announced internally last Thursday that he was leaving, according to the report.
The announcement follows a series of other departures at the company that includes engineers, sales and marketing personnel and the head of corporate communications, the report said.
Bosworth was a pioneer in "extensible markup language," or XML-software language, critical to building functions on the Internet. He also worked at Microsoft Corp. earlier in his career.
Bosworth later started Crossgain, a company that was acquired by BEA in 2001, and was tapped to head the development of new software products to help BEA grow.
