Google Lens is now available for all Android smartphones

Google Lens, the visual search engine from Google is now available for all Google Photos users on Android. The feature lets users scan things through the app to receive information.

Google Lens also lets users create a contact from a business card and identify a landmark. Certain phones will be able to access Lens through the Google Assistant, including Samsung, Huawei, LG, Motorola, Sony, and HMD / Nokia.

Lens was initially only available on the Pixel smartphones, but this update opens the feature up to virtually every Android user. Google first announced the expansion of Lens last week during MWC 2018, although it didn’t offer a timeframe for the launch.

Google says that they are rolling out Lens in batches so some people might not get the update. Apple fans, however, will have to make do with an ambiguous “coming soon.”
