Google invites coders for Code Jam

MOUNTAIN VIEW, US: Have an enthusiasm on solving mind-boggling codes? Google is the place to go.

The search engine giant on Monday announced Google Code Jam 2009, a platform for the programming community.

The official blog of Google, while announcing the event said, “Here at Google, we know the rush of encountering a challenge and rising to meet it, transforming a problem into a solution and a solution into code.”

It further added, “ Since 2003, we've been sharing that experience with a global community of computer scientists through our annual programming competition, Google Code Jam.”

Google Code Jam is a coding competition in which professional and student programmers are asked to solve complex algorithmic challenges in a limited amount of time. The contest is all-inclusive: Google Code Jam lets one program in the coding language and development environment of individual choice.

The competition would start in September, after four tough rounds of online competition.

According to the blog top 25 competitors would be flown to our Mountain View headquarters to to match wits for the $5,000 first prize — and the title of Code Jam champion.

The registration are open till third of next month.
