Google intros five new features for Android mkt

BANGALORE, INDIA:  Search engine giant Google has announced five new features for their Android market.

This was announced at the ongoing Google IO 2011, a developer conference aimed for software developer community.

"We’ve seen tremendous growth in Android Market lately. With over 200,000 apps supporting over 300 Android devices, we’ve had 4.5 billion applications installed to date," said Fernando Delgado, product manager, Android Market in a blog post.

He further added, "But with so many apps available, how do you find the ones you really want? Whether you’re looking for the most popular apps, hot new apps, or just the very best apps available, we want to help make sure that you find what you’re looking for."

New features for Android market includes: New top app charts, Editors’ Choice, Top Developers, Better related apps and Trending apps.

New features are available on the official Android market website, and will be coming soon to Android Market on phones and tablets.
