Google intros in-app payment for Web developers

BANGALORE, INDIA: Search engine giant Google has announced the availability of In-App Payments for the Web to all the developers.

Google had announced the in-app payment only for Chrome web stores during the annual developer conference of Google I/O in May, 2011. With the latest announcement, the service is available to all the web developers.

Google In-App Payments purchases were demonstrated as a simple click right within a web app, so buyers could enjoy a developer’s content, without interruption.

Announcing the availability in a blog post, Amit Fulay, product manager at Google said, “We’re making Google In-App Payments available for all web application developers to integrate with their web apps wherever they’re hosted, including the Chrome Web Store.

The pricing for the in-app payment service is 5 per cent, added Fulay.

He further added that, “In-App Payments are initially available for developers with a United States bank account and for buyers in more than 140 countries.”

The search engine giant also announced that, the company is planning to expand the service to additional developer locations as quickly as possible.
