Google doodles for microchip co-creator

BANGALORE, INDIA: Search engine gaint Google is known for its power in not letting you forget anything or anyone. And today's home page is one such reminder, the birth of Robert Noyce, co-inventor of the integrated circuit.

Also called "the Mayor of Silicon Valley", Noyce co-invented integrated circuit along with Jack Kilby.

The co-creator of the microchip and driving force behind Silicon Valley, Robert Noyce, was a co-founder of Fairchild Semiconductor in 1957 and Intel Corporation in 1968, and an investor and advisor in several other companies

The search engine's Doodle design celebrates what would have been Noyce's 84th birthday with a stylised golden electronic chip on its home page.
