Google still censoring Chinese search site

SHANGHAI, CHINA: Google Inc said it is still censoring searches on its Chinese-language website Google.cn after some analyst reports said filters had been lifted.

"We're still censoring our results on Google.cn.," said a Google spokesperson in a statement to Reuters on Friday, adding that the reports were untrue.

On Thursday, the United States backed Google's decision to no longer support China's censoring of Internet searches, saying the issue was of considerable economic importance as well as involving free information flow.
