Google App’s new 'search' features for Cricket Fans

ICC T20 world cup is here and Google couldn’t have timed its app ad campaign better. The advertisement aims at highlighting the range of new cricket 'search' features on its Google app for cricket fans in India.

The app will be offering a host of features to the cricket-lovers ranging from regular score updates to match schedules, in both English and Hindi. The new 'search' experience also includes news updates related to games, teams and players, as well as score boxes with in-depth game statistics and analysis.

The campaign to cash in India’s cricket obsession was launched late on Wednesday and features two advertisements, conceptualized by Lowe Lintas, which will be aired during the T20 Cricket World Cup and also IPL 2016.

The first ad titled Cricket Score, plays around the obsession for regular score updates during India's cricket matches. People are always anxious to know scores and updates no matter what they are doing- driving, shopping, or working in an office. This will now be available on Google App's new cricket update feature.

The second film titled Cricket Jersey shows Google app as more than score update provider. The app is a troubleshooter for all cricket related problems and queries. In the film, when a boy's hand-painted jersey gets washed out in the rain, Google comes to the rescue by offering his father multiple choices to get another jersey for his son for the upcoming match.

Speaking of the new campaign, Sapna Chadha, head of marketing, Google India, said, "Being away from the action can be frustrating, but with the launch of new cricket experiences on the Google app from today, you can be a part of all the action and not miss out on anything."
