Google Android event on Oct 29: What we can expect

BANGALORE, INDIA: It has been several days since rumors on Google's products started doing the rounds. Hopefully, all the rumors will be put to rest on October 29.

According to Think Digit, Google has sent out invitations for an Android event being held at New York. The event starts at 10.00 am in the morning (7:30 pm IST).

After the new of the Google Android event broke out, speculations on the products that could be unveiled have hit the Web. Some of the announcements expected are as follows:

1. LG Nexus 4 smartphone

Rumors suggest that the next Google Nexus smartphone will be made by LG and will be called LG Nexus 4. The smartphone is expected to have features such as 1280×768 true-HD IPS screen, Android 4.2 (latest updated version), quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM, on-screen navigation keys, 8MP camera, no microSD slot, 8GB and 16GB versions only (at least initially), non-removable battery, built-in wireless charging and will be available in black and white colors.

2. Android 4.2

The latest version of Android, expected to be called Key Lime Pie, will probably be announced at this event. Two weeks ago, a website called Android Authority reported that the new Android version showed up in Google Analytics data. Android Authority apparently tracked down some visits to its website showing up in Google Analytics as coming from Android 4.2 devices like Nexus 7, Galaxy Nexus, Xperia Arc S and Samsung Galaxy Y.

3. Google Nexus 7 tablet 32GB version

A 32GB variant of the Google Nexus 7 tablet is apparently going to be announced, according to a report on Think Digit. The report also says that the 7-inch tablet might cost $99.

Although there is no official word on any of the above mentioned products, this does increase the excitement levels among Android enthusiasts. If we will actually get to see the products mentioned above can only be verified with the commencement of the Google Android event.
