HYDERABAD: In its bid to provide services in the ILD sector, Hyderabad-based Goldstone teleservices Ltd, a telecom equipment manufacturer, is going to float a joint venture with a telecom company based out of US to provide international long distance (ILD) services in the country. The company which recently applied for the ILD license is all set to invest close to Rs 75 crore for this venture, sources close to the company said.
The company is planning to have its services rolled out in eight important cities in a phased manner, including the four metros other than Bangalore, Kochi, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. It may be recalled that Goldstone teleservices spun off from its parent company Goldstone Technologies sometime back and is now in the process of negotiation with four major telecom players in the US. A joint venture partner will be finalized within two weeks time, say the sources.
The move by the company is justified by the fact that India receives 4 billion minutes of incoming calls every year, of which over 40 per cent are from the US. Outgoing calls total about 800 million minutes, of which more than 15 per cent were aimed at the US.
Goldstone is a fast growing software company, offering a range of services to diverse industries and geographies. It integrates onsite management with offshore execution to give its customers cost-effective and 24/7 services.
Goldstone operates through several offices in the US, Canada, Europe, Japan and India. The company also has large offshore software facilities in India and an offsite facility in Canada that maintains client-specific CDCs (Client Development Centers) for several Fortune 1000 companies. In North America, Goldstone has projects in over 35 states and operates five offices in the US and Canada.
