DUBLIN, IRELAND: Globalstar Europe Satellite Services Ltd announced the launch of its new Pre-paid service in EMENA (Europe, Middle East and North Africa).
For the first time, consumers and commercial users can now benefit from the world's most modern satellite network without a contract. Users including fishermen in the Atlantic, emergency aid workers in North Africa, leisure boat owners in the Mediterranean and oil/gas workers in the Nordics no longer need to worry about an annual contract when they only go beyond the mobile phone network on a sporadic or seasonal basis.
Thanks to Globalstar's prepaid service, users can now more freely use their satellite phone, or someone else's, whenever and wherever they wish.
Globalstar's prepaid accounts can be topped-up with 10 different card denominations, five personal and five shared prepaid cards. Customers who simply want to use the phone for themselves can use personal cards to activate and top-up their prepaid account while shared prepaid cards are for those customers who may wish to loan their phone to family, friends or colleagues (e.g. a ship's captain could provide his satellite phone to his crew for them to call home).
Globalstar is the only service provider in the mobile satellite service (MSS) industry to facilitate the use of shared prepaid credit on already activated postpaid Globalstar phones across all services. This new shared prepaid service essentially turns every Globalstar handset into a satellite "pay phone."
Globalstar customers now have a truly unique "triple advantage" of having access to the lowest cost prepaid service in the industry, with the most affordable satellite phone, on the world's most modern satellite network in orbit. Additionally, Globalstar customers continue to enjoy industry leading, crystal clear voice quality thanks to its patented Qualcomm-based CDMA technology.
